No matter what we’re passionate about, something we care about will be affected by climate change.

That is why Maintel has committed to set science-based targets that align with what science says is necessary to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

We’ve aligned our journey to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. There are many goals that we contribute to and are continuing to improve. The ones that we have identified as material to our business are as follows:

Committed to environmental transparency

Maintel discloses its climate change impacts through CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), a global non-profit that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure platform. CDP drives companies and governments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. Over 13,000 companies with over 64% of global market capitalization disclosed environmental data through CDP in 2021. This is in addition to the over 1,100 cities, states and regions who disclosed, making CDP’s platform one of the richest sources of information globally on how companies and governments are driving environmental change.

Being transparent about our achievements, where we need to improve and regularly reporting are important aspects of our overall sustainable business program success and enables us to build trust with our stakeholders and wider communities. Trees for cloud seats and Maintel's recycling efforts

At Maintel we believe in giving something back and at no cost to our customers. We are planting 25 trees for every 500 cloud seats ordered and enabled through us. Our customers receive a thank you certificate for helping to grow the Maintel Forest and become part of our sustainable business efforts. We also include the number of trees we save through our company recycling initiatives. A tree can absorb approximately one tonne of CO2 in its lifetime and to be a forest we need at least 6,000 trees. Why not become part of Maintel’s growing forest by moving to the cloud today?

The Trussell Trust

In working with the Trussell Trust, Maintel aims to back the charity’s nationwide network of food banks by continuing to provide emergency food and support to people trapped in poverty in Britain.

Green Up Britain

We joined up with Green Up Britain to help re-wild an abandoned plot of grassy wetland at Waverley Nature Reserve, Surrey. Maintel’s Dan Davies, Chief Technology Officer and Joanne Ballard, ESG Strategy and Compliance Director, planted 30 trees.

Accreditations

A quality management system that helps Maintel ensure we meet our customer and other stakeholder needs within statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product or service provided.

The international standard on how to manage information security that ensures Maintel follow best practise relating to Information Security.

Specifies the requirements for an effective environmental management system. It provides a framework to establish and manage environmental performance.

The international standard for management systems of occupational health and safety including the goal of reducing occupational injuries and diseases and promoting and protecting physical and mental health.

The Financial Services Qualification Scheme FSQS) is a single standard for managing the complexity of third and fourth party information needed to demonstrate compliance.

A trusted provider of sustainability/ESG risk mapping, scanning and ratings for global supply chains. Maintel is Gold level, in the top 10% of companies audited.

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is an information security standard for companies that handle branded credit cards from the major card schemes. Controls cardholder data to reduce credit card fraud.

The Financial Conduct Authority is a financial regulatory body in the UK. Maintel are an FCA registered Limited Credit Broker.

A safety scheme in procurement. The Health and Safety Assessment Scheme identifies that Maintel health and safety processes meet excellent standards.

An audit to confirm that Maintel conforms to all health, safety, environmental and other applicable legislation.

UK government information assurance scheme operated by the National Cyber Security Centre that encourages organisations to adopt good practice in information security.
